Day 5 and still waiting

... but it's really only the 2nd day of the Neap tide, we still have 6 days to wish for calmer winds..
In the meantime, I, and all the swimmers continue to train in the harbor and acclimate to cooler than usual temps. I'm feeling the wind chill factor on my hands.

I always cherish the new Friendships I make over here, and with all this free time, I managed to meet some wonderful swimmers and crew, such a wonderful sport. I think I have new project for the future, but to soon to elaborate.

This is a quick video (3 minutes) of what's happening here in Dover. I didn't put any music on it because of copywrite stuff and it's an easier download, so put your favorite on, I suggest 'Breezin' 2 dimension just doesn't do it right but it's all we have..

Mike Oram is keeping us all posted with the weather forecast, the following is his message today:

For all you frustrated swimmers (and pilots) -- it does not look good weather wise at the moment.
Tomorrow and Thursday we have a strong winds warning and a forecast for West or South West force 5 to 7.

Looking at www.metoffice.gov.uk the pressure chart, inshore waters forecast - and the land forecast for Dover,Langdon Bay, shows Friday - Saturday getting worst, with gusts of 30+ knots and probably gales. Sunday does not look much better.

It looks like there is an Azores High trying to build in for next week - but - there is also another low pressure system moving across the Atlantic. It's to early to say which weather pattern will win.
Today we have had 28 knots of wind a metre seas on the Sandette with a short (5 sec) wave pattern.
Water Temperature is 59.5F (15.3°C)

 Dream, Prepare, Succeed
